Alcohol Prohibitions

This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.

Aquatic Invasive Species

This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.

Restrictions on Use of Forage and Mulch Products

This Order prohibits unloading, storing, or using any straw, hay, grain, seed, or other forage or mulch products that are not state-certified weed free on the National Forest System lands, roads or trails in any Closure Area as specific in the Order.

Forest Road Closures and Delays

ClosedOn the Diamond Lake District, National Forest System Road (NFSR) 3401, or the road to the Umpqua Hot Springs, is closed just past the junction of NFSRs 34 and 3401. Visitors wanting to soak in the Umpqua Hot Springs should plan to hike, snowshoe, or ski the last 2.5 miles.

ORDER NO. 06-15-03-26-01 Umpqua Hot Springs Winter Road Closure

Starting January 6, 2026, National Forest System Road (NFSR) 3401, or the road to the Umpqua Hot Springs, will close due to the incoming winter storm. The closed gate is located on the Diamond Lake Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest just past the junction of NFSRs 34 and 3401.

Order No. 06-15-25-01 - Stay Limit of 14 Days

Camping within a five-mile radius for longer than 14 days and staying longer than 28 calendar days in a given year is prohibited.

This is due to an inversion and stagnant air conditions near the surface that will continue to trap pollutants within the valleys in Klamath and Lake County. * WHERE...The valleys of Klamath and Lake counties. * WHEN...Until 4 PM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Poor air quality may cause issues for people with respiratory problems.

East Rim Drive from Reflection Point to Sun Notch for Major Road Construction Project

East Rim Drive from Reflection Point to Sun Notch is closed for major road construction. The Pinnacles Road is only accessible by hiking or biking Grayback Road or traveling on a gravel US Forest Service Road to the park boundary.

Fire Restrictions in Effect

To ensure public safety and to provide the highest degree of protection to park resources, fire restrictions are in effect until further notice.

Roads May Be Icy - Please Use Caution!

Even though the sun is shining, the open roads in the park may still have icy patches, especially in the mornings and evenings when the temperatures drop. Please drive with caution.

East Rim Drive Closed to Motorized Vehicles on September 6th and 13th for Ride the Rim

The 11th annual Ride the Rim event will be happening on Saturdays 9/6 and 9/13. The entire East Rim Drive will close for the event each weekend on Friday evening at 7:00 PM and will reopen on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 PM.

Fremont-Winema National Forest 14 Day Stay Limit

Pursuant to 16 USC § 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited upon all lands, roads, and trails administered by the Fremont-Winema National Forest as described in this order.
