excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Seward.
* WHEN...From Thursday evening through Friday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive rainfall may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A strong frontal system with an atmospheric river of moisture
will move over the southern Kenai Peninsula Thursday through
Friday. Although light rain will begin Thursday morning, a period
of heavy rain is expected late Thursday evening through Friday
morning before the rain slowly tapers off Friday afternoon.
Rainfall rates of up to a quarter of an inch per hour are
possible between 10 PM Thursday and 10 AM Friday, with a storm
total between 3 and 4 inches of rain likely with event. Prolonged
heavy rain may lead to areas of flooding along smaller streams
and creeks, in low-lying and poor drainage areas, and ponding of
water on roadways.

Areas of light freezing rain are possible this morning from north
of Palmer along the Glenn Highway to Sutton and Chickaloon.
Temperatures overnight have fallen into the upper 20s to lower 30s
for this area with temperatures expected to remain steady through
mid to late morning before slowly warming above freezing. Any
precipitation is expected to be very light. However, a glaze ice
accumulation is possible across this area.
