Motor Vehicle Order Road Restrictions

The purpose of this Order is for the protection of public health and safety and prohibits:

Week of Jan 12: Pile burning near Williams, Tusayan, and Jacob Lake

Crews will be conducting prescribed pile burns on the the week of January 12 near:

Firewood permits available Jan 5 for Williams & Tusayan RDs, May 1 for North Kaibab RD

Fuelwood permits will be available on January 5, 2026, for the Williams and Tusayan Ranger Districts, and on May 1, 2026, for the North Kaibab Ranger District. Permit sales and firewood collection will run through December 31, 2026.

Effective Jan 1, 2026 - UPDATED - White Sage & Dragon Bravo Fires Temporary Area Closure

Saddle Mountain Wilderness, most of House Rock Valley within the North Kaibab Ranger District and some roads in the White Sage Fire footprint will remain closed due to ongoing flooding risk and other hazards.

Winter 2025/2026 pile burns on the Kaibab NF

The Kaibab National Forest is planning prescribed fire pile burns on up to approximately 9,000 acres on the Williams and Tusayan ranger districts and approximately 1,100 acres on the North Kaibab Ranger District, pending all required approvals.

State Route 67 closed for the winter at Jacob Lake - North Kaibab Ranger District

Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) closed State Route 67 at Jacob Lake on the North Kaibab Ranger District the morning of December 8th for the winter season. ADOT typically reopens SR-67 mid-May.

Forest Road 354 on Kaibab & Prescott NF Temporarily Closed for Repairs

National Forest System Road (NFSR) 354 is closed for public safety due to flood damage and washed-out sections of the road, which lies on portions of the Prescott and Kaibab National Forests.
