About
Wolf Creek Campground offers a quiet, rustic camping experience in the Ochoco National Forest, nestled within a shaded ponderosa pine forest along Wolf Creek. The campground and the former Wolf Industrial Campground have been administratively combined and now operate as a single facility under the Wolf Creek name, with fees applying to all areas. This is a small, no-frills campground with vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire pits at each site. Campers should come prepared with their own drinking water, as no potable water is available. The campground's narrow roads and tight corners limit access to smaller RVs and trailers, with a maximum recommended length of 20 feet. The location provides a peaceful setting for tent camping and small trailer camping, with the sound of Wolf Creek nearby. The campground is located approximately 12 miles from the community of Paulina and requires travel on forest roads. Access involves taking State Highway 380 southeast from Prineville, then following county roads and Forest Service Road 42 to reach the site. The surrounding area offers opportunities for fishing, hiking, and enjoying the quiet solitude of the Ochoco National Forest.
Directions
From Prineville, take State Highway 380 southeast for about 55 miles, then turn left onto Izee Highway (County Road 112). Travel 3.5 miles to Beaver Creek Road (County Road 113), turn left and travel approximately 6 miles to Forest Service Road 42. Follow FS Road 42 for 2 miles to the campground.
