About
Wilson Narrows Cabin sits within the Misty Fjords National Monument Wilderness at the south end of Wilson Lake, a long, narrow lake carved by glaciers and surrounded by rugged mountain peaks and evergreen forest. Built in 1964, this 12x14-foot Pan Abode-style cabin accommodates up to six guests with two single and two double bunks. The cabin includes a wood stove for heating, cooking counter, table with benches, shelves, cupboard space, and splitting tools for firewood. Wilson Lake is an angler's paradise, with excellent fishing for cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden, and kokanee salmon at the lake outlet. A 14-foot aluminum skiff with oars is provided for exploring the lake, though visitors must bring their own life jackets. Wildlife viewing opportunities include mountain goat, Sitka black-tailed deer, and both black and brown bears. This is a true wilderness experience with no electricity, indoor plumbing, cell phone service, or potable water. Visitors must be fully self-sufficient, bringing sleeping gear, cooking equipment, water, food, toilet paper, fire starter, and garbage bags. All trash must be packed out. The cabin is located in designated Wilderness, so helicopter access is prohibited.
Directions
