About
Wildrose Campground sits at 4,100 feet in the Panamint Mountains, offering a cooler escape from Death Valley's scorching valley floor. This free, first-come-first-served campground features 23 primitive sites on dirt and gravel surfaces surrounded by mesquite bushes and rolling hills. Each site includes an NPS-provided fire grate and picnic table. Sites 14-23 form a tent-only loop. There is no potable water at Wildrose; campers must bring their own supply. The closest water source is approximately 31 miles north at Stovepipe Wells. Vault toilets are available year-round. Trash and recycling collection is provided. No hookups, showers, or dump station are available. The road to Wildrose has a 25-foot total vehicle length restriction (including trailer). Generators are permitted 7am to 7pm only. Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am. Campfires are allowed only in NPS-provided fire grates, with open flames prohibited from June 15 through September 15. Stay is limited to 30 consecutive days.
