About

White Earth Campground is located on Canyon Ferry Reservoir near Winston, Montana, managed by the Bureau of Reclamation. The campground sits in the open valley between the Big Belt and Elkhorn mountain ranges, offering 36 designated campsites along the reservoir's banks. In 1805, the Lewis and Clark expedition passed through this region, with Sacagawea recognizing the country and assuring the expedition that the three forks of the Missouri were near. Canyon Ferry Reservoir provides year-round recreational opportunities including swimming, fishing, sailing, motor-boating, kayaking, jet skiing, windsurfing, and water skiing. Winter draws ice fishermen and ice skaters. The campground includes a boat launch and parking area for boat trailers, along with a group use shelter that can be reserved separately. Facilities during peak summer months include accessible vault toilets, potable water, trash and recycling containers, and campground hosts. The campground is positioned halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, with Helena 25 miles away.
