About

Indian Road Group Use Shelter sits along the Missouri River at the south end of Canyon Ferry Reservoir, between the Big Belt and Elkhorn Mountain ranges. This day-use facility is managed by the Bureau of Reclamation and can accommodate groups of up to 75 people. The 33' x 44' shelter includes 8 picnic tables and 2 grills, with mature cottonwoods providing shade in the surrounding grassy areas. Two accessible vault toilets are located just across the graveled parking lot. A small fishing pond on-site is specifically designed for children and individuals with disabilities, with young willows lining its banks. A boat ramp is also available when water levels permit. The shelter is open to the public on a first-come-first-serve basis for day use only. No overnight camping or use is allowed, and the shelter closes at 10:00 p.m. No electrical hookups are available for camp trailers or RVs. The Canyon Ferry Wildlife Management Area is nearby, offering bird watching and paddling opportunities during permitted seasons.
