About

Watkins Glen State Park campground is one of New York's most popular destinations, situated at the southern end of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes region. The park's centerpiece is a spectacular gorge carved by Glen Creek, featuring 19 waterfalls within just over a mile of trail. The campground spreads across six village loops: Cayuga, Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Seneca, and Tuscarora, with Cayuga and Mohawk being the only loops offering 30/50 amp electric hookups. The campground provides full facilities including hot showers, flush restrooms, and dump stations. Each campsite comes equipped with a fire ring fitted with a cooking grill. Additional park amenities include an Olympic-size swimming pool open late June through early September, playground, food concessions, and a gift shop operating mid-May through November. Rustic cabins without electricity or running water are also available for those seeking a more primitive experience. The Gorge Trail typically opens in mid-May and closes mid-October depending on weather conditions. Rim trails remain open year-round. Quiet hours are strictly enforced from 10 PM to 8 AM. The campground operates on a reservation system through ReserveAmerica with bookings available up to 9 months in advance.
