About

Troublesome Creek Campground is nestled in a mixed conifer forest on the banks of the scenic North Fork Skykomish River and its tributary, Troublesome Creek, approximately 20 miles east of Index, Washington. The campground offers 25 sites (24 single, 1 double) with picnic tables, vault toilets, and potable water. Sites accommodate both tents and RVs, though no electrical hookups are available. Water is abundant here, providing easy access to fishing for steelhead and salmon, kayaking, and swimming. A footbridge crosses Troublesome Creek beneath towering pine and fir trees, and a mile-long nature trail follows the creek through the forest. The campground serves as a gateway to the Wild Sky Wilderness and Henry M. Jackson Wilderness areas. For those seeking more adventure, the Beckler Peak Trail is located about 10 miles from nearby Skykomish. This challenging hike rewards with panoramic views of near and distant peaks, passing through diverse landscapes including old-growth forest and the remains of a historic trapper's cabin.
