Franklin Falls Sno-Park Closed this Winter
The Franklin Falls Sno-Park will not operate this winter, and the Denny Creek Road (Forest Service Road 58) will be closed to motorized traffic. The Denny Creek Road and parking lot at Franklin Falls will not be plowed.

Middle Fork Camping Closure

Entire Forest Under Food Storage Order
The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest has a food storage order in effect across the entire Forest. This order requires visitors to the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest (MBSNF) to store food items in a “bear resistant manner” and to properly dispose of wildlife attractants.

North Mountain Lookout, situated at an elevation of 3,956 feet, offers panoramic views of the North Cascades, including Mount Baker and Glacier Peak. Originally constructed in 1965, the lookout has been meticulously restored and is now available for overnight rentals from June through early October. The 14'x14' cabin atop a 41-foot tower provides a unique lodging experience with 360-degree vistas. Access to the lookout involves a 12-mile drive from Darrington, followed by a short hike if the gate is closed. The area is also popular among mountain bikers, with a network of trails catering to various skill levels. Directions
From Darrington, drive north on Highway 530 for 0.6 miles. Turn left onto North Mountain Road (FS-2810/FS-2811). Follow this road for approximately 12 miles to reach the North Mountain Lookout.
