About

Situated on the banks of Buck Creek in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Buck Creek Campground provides a rustic, secluded camping experience in the Northern Cascade Range. The 14 standard nonelectric sites are scattered beneath a towering canopy of old-growth forest, with every campsite within earshot of the rushing creek. Creekfront sites offer the most direct access to the water. This primitive campground is popular with those seeking a quiet getaway and serves as an ideal base camp for accessing many area trails. Activities include fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, swimming, and picnicking. The forest is hemmed in by several designated wilderness areas and showcases rugged peaks and sparkling alpine lakes. Facilities are minimal: vault toilets and picnic tables at each site, with fire rings for campfires (subject to seasonal restrictions). No drinking water is available, so campers must bring adequate supplies. Dogs are allowed but must remain on leash. Check-in is at 2:00 p.m., check-out at noon, with quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and a 14-day stay limit.

Directions

From Darrington, travel north on SR 530 approximately 7 miles to Suiattle River Road (Forest Road 26). Drive approximately 16 miles to the campground, located on the left/north side of the road. The last 5 miles are gravel.
