About

Strawberry Point Campground is a small, rustic campground located on the north shore of Ice House Reservoir in the Crystal Basin area of Eldorado National Forest. Situated at 5,500 feet elevation, the campground offers 10 first-come, first-served sites with basic amenities including vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. This is a dry campground with no potable water available, so campers must bring their own or filter/boil lake water. The campground provides direct access to Ice House Reservoir for fishing, swimming, and non-motorized or motorized boating. A bike and hiking trail runs between campgrounds on the north side of the reservoir. The nearest boat ramp and dump station are located at Ice House Campground. The area is home to black bears, and proper food storage is required. Sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs, with a limit of two vehicles and six people per site. Access is via Highway 50 east of Placerville, then 11 miles north on Ice House Road (Forest Road 3), and 3 miles east on Ice House/Wrights Lake Tie Road (Forest Road 32). The campground operates seasonally from May through October, with check-in at 2:00 p.m. and check-out at 1:00 p.m. The daily fee is $10, and stays are limited to 14 days per district per year.
