To improve the camping experience for our guests at all Beaver Lake campgrounds, the Check-Out time for campsite reservations will be adjusted from 3:00pm to 1:00pm on the day that reservation ends. This change will apply to all reservations beginning on or after April 1st, 2026, regardless of when the reservation was originally booked. Check-In time will remain 4:00pm on the day incoming reservations start. The additional time before incoming reservation holders may check in will allow Park Attendants, Cleaners, and Park Ranger staff to ensure that outgoing guests have not only vacated their sites, but that the facilities are fully operational, clean, and prepared to welcome incoming guests. As always, should you wish to make, modify, or cancel a reservation, you may do so from your [Recreation.gov][1] account or by calling 1-877-444-6777. We look forward to seeing you at Beaver Lake this recreation season! [1]: http://Recreation.gov
About
Starkey Campground occupies a scenic stretch of Beaver Lake shoreline in the Ozark Mountains of northwest Arkansas, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The 23 standard campsites are arranged along a hillside that slopes toward the water, with sites 1-7 offering both water and 30-amp electric hookups, while sites 8-23 provide electric-only service. Each site accommodates one RV and one tent or up to three tents, with maximum RV/trailer lengths around 35 feet. The campground provides flush toilets, a dump station, centrally located drinking water, and fire rings at each site. A boat ramp provides direct lake access for fishing Beaver Lake's 28,000 surface acres, where anglers pursue largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, white bass, stripers, and catfish. A playground and picnic areas round out the family-friendly facilities. Surrounding the campground are limestone bluffs, natural caves, and diverse vegetation typical of the Ozarks. Several hiking and biking trails wind through the nearby mountains, and the area supports hunting for deer, rabbits, and small game in season. The Belle of the Ozarks paddlewheel boat departs from the adjacent day-use area.
