Locations include, but are not limited to Craig, Steamboat Springs, Walden, Granby, Hot Sulphur Springs, Kremmling, Meeker, Rangely, Glenwood Springs, Eagle, Vail, Breckenridge, Central City, Georgetown, Grand Junction, Aspen, Leadville, Fairplay, Delta, Gunnison, Buena Vista, Salida, Montrose, Nucla, Ouray, Telluride, Dove Creek, and Saguache. Spring Creek Campground is nestled in the Gunnison National Forest along Spring Creek Road, offering 12 campsites for those seeking a primitive camping experience in Colorado's high country. The campground operates on a first-come-first-served basis, and campers can pay on-site using Recreation.gov's Scan and Pay feature via the mobile app. The area provides excellent recreational opportunities. Anglers will appreciate proximity to the Taylor River, designated as gold medal fishing water by the Colorado Wildlife Commission. Hikers can explore trails leading into the Fossil Ridge Wilderness, a 32,000-acre natural area featuring alpine lakes, wildflower meadows, and rugged peaks. Facilities are basic: vault toilets are available but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own water supply. Firewood bundles are sold on-site. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Directions

From Almont, drive northeast on County Road 742 (Taylor Canyon Road) for 7.25 miles to Forest Road 744. Turn left onto FDR 744 (Spring Creek Road) and drive 2 miles to the campground.
