About

Sheridan North Cove Group Campground occupies a prime location on the north shore of Sheridan Lake within Black Hills National Forest. Set among Ponderosa pines with lake views, the campground offers 5 group sites designed for larger gatherings of 25 to 100 people. Each site includes vault toilets, picnic tables, and campfire rings. The sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs with paved driveways. The north shore area provides excellent access to water-based recreation. A nearby marina offers boat slip rentals, groceries, and fishing supplies. The lake features a large swimming beach, fishing piers, and a boat launch. Sheridan Lake supports rainbow and brown trout, northern pike, and perch, with fly fishing popular in Spring Creek below the dam and ice fishing available in winter. Several notable trails are accessible from the area, including the Dakota Point Trailhead for the Centennial Trail and the Calumet Trailhead for the Flume Trail. The 11-mile Flume Trail follows the historic Rockerville Flume bed and is designated a National Recreation Trail.
