About
The Sycamore Shelter/East End Overlook is a day-use picnic shelter located at Rocky Fork State Park in Highland County, Ohio. The facility offers scenic overlook views of Rocky Fork Lake, a 2,080-acre reservoir with 31 miles of shoreline that serves as the centerpiece of this popular recreation area. Rocky Fork State Park became part of Ohio's state park system in 1950 and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. The park offers unlimited horsepower boating with multiple boat ramps and a marina, swimming beaches, fishing opportunities, and several hiking trails including the Bird Observation Trail, Deer Loop Trail, and Storybook Trail. This shelter facility is designed for day-use gatherings and events rather than overnight camping. The park's main campground, located separately, offers 190 sites with electric and full-service hookups, modern amenities including flush toilets, showers, laundry facilities, a dump station, and a camp store. Day-use shelters at Ohio State Parks can be reserved up to one year in advance with a 3-day cutoff before the reservation date.
