About

Located in Barry County in Missouri's Ozark Mountains, Roaring River State Park Shelters provide covered gathering spaces for groups visiting this popular trout fishing destination. The CCC Shelter, a historic Civilian Conservation Corps structure built with wood and brick, features six picnic tables, two fireplaces, and electricity within its 22' x 45' footprint. The larger River Shelter accommodates up to 75 guests and offers wheelchair accessibility. These are day-use facilities only, not overnight camping. Operating hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. from April through October and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. from November through March. The shelters sit within a park known for year-round rainbow trout fishing, seven hiking trails, and a nature center. A playground is approximately 200 yards from the CCC Shelter, with river access about 250 yards away.
