This 78-site campground features electric hookups and serves as the park's main camping area, remaining open even during winter months when the other two campgrounds close seasonally. Sites range from 43 to 68 feet in length, making them suitable for various RV sizes. The campground's location provides direct access to Roaring River, one of Missouri's premier trout fishing destinations stocked with rainbow trout by the park's historic hatchery established in 1910. Seven scenic hiking trails wind through the park's rugged terrain, while the spring-fed river and surrounding forest create a picturesque natural setting. An accessible showerhouse with restrooms remains operational year-round, and frost-free water spigots ensure water access even in winter. Developed in the 1930s with assistance from the Civilian Conservation Corps, the park combines historic charm with modern amenities. The nearby Emory Melton Inn and Conference Center houses a restaurant and offers Wi-Fi in its lobby, though the campground itself encourages an unplugged experience. A park store provides camping supplies and essentials. The campground welcomes pets on leashes and enforces a 15-day stay limit within any 30-consecutive-day period.
