Rifle Falls State Park is a unique Colorado destination centered around the state's only 80-foot triple waterfall. The campground features 13 drive-in campsites and 7 walk-in sites positioned along the southern edge of East Rifle Creek, surrounded by lush vegetation and towering limestone cliffs. Many sites offer electrical hookups, making the park suitable for both tent campers and RVers. The park's diverse habitats attract photographers and nature enthusiasts year-round. Limestone cliffs near the falls contain small caves that visitors can explore, and the area is home to three species of bats. The park offers 2 miles of hiking trails, including paths to the top of the waterfalls. During winter months, the falls transform into spectacular ice formations, and visitors may spot northern goshawks and bald eagles. All campsites include fire rings, picnic tables, and bear-proof food storage boxes. The campground operates year-round by reservation only, with limited capacity during winter months. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance through cpwshop.com or by calling 1-800-244-5613. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., with check-in at 1 p.m. and checkout at noon. Maximum stay is 14 days within a 28-day period.

Directions

From I-70, take the Rifle exit (Exit 90) and head north on CO Highway 13 for four miles through the town of Rifle. Turn right onto Highway 325 and continue for 9.8 miles to reach the park entrance.
