About

Marvine Campground is set in a towering grove of mixed conifer and aspen trees on the western slope of the Colorado Rockies at an elevation of 8,200 feet. Located 36 miles east of Meeker along Marvine Creek in the White River National Forest, this popular campground serves as an ideal base camp for exploring the Flat Tops Wilderness. The campground offers 22 sites across three loops: 17 standard nonelectric sites and 5 equestrian nonelectric sites with corrals for horse campers. Facilities include vault toilets, hand pump drinking water, picnic tables, fire grates, and bear-proof food lockers at each site. Livestock can be watered at the stream about 200 yards from the campground. Only certified weed-free forage and bedding is allowed. Hikers, anglers, and hunters will find excellent opportunities nearby. Marvine Trail #1823 begins at the end of County Road 12 just outside the campground, accessing Marvine Creek and Marvine Lakes. East Marvine Trail #1822 leads through the wilderness to Johnson Lake and Big Marvine Peak. Fishing is available in Marvine and East Marvine Creeks, and at Marvine and Slide Lakes covering 135 surface acres with rainbow, brook, and cutthroat trout.
