Located on the north shore of Millerton Lake in Madera County, this group campground offers two dedicated group camping areas within Millerton Lake State Recreation Area. The large group site accommodates up to 75 people and 25 vehicles for $200 per night, while the small group site handles up to 40 people and 15 vehicles for $150 per night. Group sites feature pit toilets on-site, with flush toilets and showers shared between both group camps. The campground operates year-round in the temperate foothill climate of the central Sierra Nevada, with warm springs, hot summers, and cool winters. Reservations are handled through ReserveCalifornia.com or by calling (800) 444-7275. Check-in is at 2:00 PM and check-out at noon. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Campfires are permitted in provided fire rings only, and campers must bring their own firewood as gathering is prohibited and firewood is not sold on-site. Millerton Lake offers 47 miles of shoreline for water sports, swimming, fishing, and boating. The park also features special winter boat tours to view bald eagles. A free dump station and potable water refill are available near the group campground entrance. The location provides convenient access to lake activities while offering group camping facilities in the Sierra Nevada foothills.
