AQAPSR The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) has issued an Ozone High Pollution Advisory for the Phoenix Metro Area today and Wednesday. This means that forecast weather conditions combined with existing ozone levels are expected to result in local maximum 8-hour ozone concentrations that pose a health risk. Adverse health effects increase as air quality deteriorates. Ozone is an air contaminant which can cause breathing difficulties for children, older adults, as well as persons with respiratory problems. A decrease in physical activity is recommended. You are urged to car pool, telecommute or use mass transit. The use of gasoline-powered equipment should be reduced or done late in the day. Rattlesnake Group Campground was a group camping facility located on Bartlett Lake within Arizona's Tonto National Forest. The campground has been permanently decommissioned and no longer accepts overnight camping. The site now operates as Rattlesnake Cove Picnic Site, a day-use only facility open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The picnic area offers 41 ramadas equipped with picnic tables and grills, vault toilets, and staircase access to the Bartlett Lake shoreline. No potable water is available on-site. Campers seeking group camping options in the Tonto National Forest should explore other facilities in the Cave Creek Ranger District or nearby areas around Bartlett Lake.

Directions

From Carefree, take Cave Creek Road 7 miles, turn right on Bartlett Dam Road and continue for 13 miles, then turn left on FR 459. Travel half a mile on FR 459 and turn right into the site.
