About

Ute Lake State Park encompasses a 13-mile-long reservoir in the high plains of northeastern New Mexico, drawing anglers targeting walleye, largemouth bass, catfish, and crappie. The park offers camping options across multiple developed campgrounds: Yucca Campground provides 45 sites with 30/50-amp electric, Zia has 24 electric sites, and Logan Park offers 23 electric sites. For those seeking simpler setups, Roadrunner and Eagle Point have developed sites without electric but with water nearby, while primitive camping is available at New Cottonwood and several dispersed areas. Facilities include restrooms, showers, an RV dump station, and pull-through sites suitable for larger rigs. A visitor center provides interpretive exhibits about the area. The marina and multiple boat ramps support watercraft access. The entry gate is open 24 hours daily. Reservations are available through the New Mexico State Parks reservation system. Several non-reservation campgrounds operate on a first-come, first-served basis including Old Cottonwood, Oldham Overlook, Oldham Circle, and Beaver Cove.
