About

Prairie Ridge Park sits on a high ridge between Buck Creek and Honey Creek, 6 miles southwest of Moravia. This Army Corps of Engineers campground offers 54 family-friendly electric campsites divided into two separate camping areas, each providing spacious sites with lake vistas. The campground is surrounded by Iowa's natural and enhanced prairie grasslands with woodland draws and timbered hillsides, creating excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and experiencing Iowa's diverse ecosystems. The protected three-sided boat ramp has long been popular with powerboaters, sailors, windsurfers, and catamaran enthusiasts. A courtesy dock and fish cleaning station make water access convenient for families. Shore anglers and boaters find excellent fishing for walleye, crappie, bass, and catfish on this 11,000-acre reservoir. Rathbun Lake's most extensive trail system starts here, offering 8 miles of hiking and mountain biking through wild terrain that connects to Honey Creek Resort State Park. The area provides hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, waterfowl, and small game. The campground is minutes from lake services including bait shops, restaurants, and fuel, and is 14 minutes from the 125-acre Rathbun OHV Park off Highway S70.
