Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 906 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... About

Honey Creek State Park encompasses 828 acres of rolling, timbered hills with Rathbun Lake, Iowa's second largest lake, as its scenic backdrop. The campground offers a variety of site types including electric campsites, non-electric campsites, youth group-only campsites, and walk-to campsites. Universally accessible sites are available for campers with mobility needs. The campground features modern restrooms with showers and an RV dump station. Beyond camping, the park provides excellent recreational opportunities including a swimming beach, boat ramp, fishing dock with fish cleaning station, and five miles of multi-use trails including interpretive paths. The park is home to 17 ancient Woodland Native American mounds, adding historical significance to the natural beauty. Two picnic shelters are available for group reservations, and a playground offers family entertainment. All campsites require advance reservations through the Iowa State Parks reservation system. Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. and check-out is at 3:00 p.m., with a maximum consecutive stay of 14 nights. The park also offers four rustic camping cabins with covered porches, electricity, microwaves, small refrigerators, and heating.
