About

Bridgeview Park is located on Rathbun Lake, just 13 miles northwest of Centerville in southeast Iowa. This large Army Corps of Engineers campground offers 106 family sites, with 95 featuring electric hookups, spread across open grassy areas dotted with trees in the gently rolling hills of the Chariton River Valley. The campground provides flush and pit toilets, showers, drinking water, a dump station, boat ramp, playground, and horseshoe pits. A day-use group picnic shelter accommodating up to 24 people is also available. Rathbun Lake, known as Iowa's Ocean, spans 11,000 acres and provides diverse fishing opportunities for crappie, channel catfish, walleye, and largemouth bass. The lake's prevailing winds make it one of the best sailing destinations in Iowa, and it's popular for power boating, swimming, and other water sports. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with bald eagles, white-tailed deer, Canada geese, and wild turkey frequently spotted in the area. Nearby attractions include southern Iowa's only Off Highway Vehicle Park, located three miles away on 125 acres of abandoned rock quarry, and the Rathbun Fish Hatchery near the main dam, which offers self-guided tours year-round.
