Located nine miles northwest of Centerville and eight miles southwest of Moravia, the campground is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and features 187 family campsites plus one group site, all equipped with electric hookups up to 50 amps. Facilities include flush and pit toilets, showers, potable water, and an RV dump station. The campground provides direct lake access via boat ramp, dock, and marina. Sites accommodate RVs and trailers up to 70 feet on gravel driveways. Rathbun Lake is nicknamed "Iowa's Ocean" due to prevailing winds that make it one of the state's best sailing destinations. Fishing is a primary draw, with crappie, channel catfish, walleye, and largemouth bass readily available. The nearby Rathbun Fish Hatchery offers self-guided tours on weekdays.
