Access to the facility is via unpaved forest roads, including Rattlesnake Road and Forest Road 30N31. The picnic area serves as the trailhead for the Philpot Interpretive Trail, making it a popular stop for hikers looking to explore the surrounding forest. Directions

From Hayfork, follow CA Highway 3 south and turn west on Rattlesnake Road. Turn right on Forest Road 30N31. Picnic area will be on the left.
