About

Pete's Lake Campground is nestled in the center of Michigan's Hiawatha National Forest on the shores of 190-acre Pete's Lake. The campground offers 41 spacious and private campsites situated among mixed hardwood and conifer trees, with some sites overlooking the lake. All roads in the campground are paved, making it ideal for bike riding and easy navigation. The campground provides excellent water-based recreation with a swimming beach, boating access for both motorized and non-motorized craft, and an accessible fishing pier in the day-use area. Anglers can expect healthy populations of northern pike, bass, walleye, and perch. The nine-mile Bruno's Run Trail winds past numerous small lakes and passes directly through the campground, offering opportunities for hiking and biking in summer and snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in winter. The day-use area features two picnic areas with multiple tables and benches along the lakeshore, a large parking area, and accessible vault toilets. Pete's Lake is surrounded by rolling hills and offers a peaceful retreat away from urban areas, with Big Island, Fish, and Straits lakes all within 25 miles.
