Richardson Lake Campground

Closed — Closed for the season. The campground operates from May 2 through November 30 annually. Reservations available through Recreation.gov.

About

Richardson Lake Campground is situated on the south shore of 47-acre Richardson Lake in beautiful Forest County Wisconsin, within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The campground's 26 sites are nestled in a lush maple-dominated northern hardwood forest, making it particularly spectacular during fall color season. The lake is well known to anglers for its largemouth bass, northern pike, perch, crappie, bluegills, and sunfish. A boat launch provides access for motorized and non-motorized watercraft, allowing visitors to explore the lake and observe wildlife along the shoreline. The sandy swim beach is a popular feature, with a picnic area located on a hill above the beach offering views of the lake. Sites range in size with back-in driveways from 25 to 45+ feet, accommodating tents and RVs up to 30 feet in length. The campground provides drinking water, vault toilets, and a camp host. Several sites are available for reservation through Recreation.gov, while others operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground is conveniently located just 5 minutes west of Wabeno, with the communities of Wabeno and Crandon offering services and events throughout the year.
