About

Richardson Lake Campground sits on the south shore of 47-acre Richardson Lake in Forest County, Wisconsin, within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest's Lakewood-Laona District. The 26 wooded sites are set in a lush maple-dominated northern hardwood forest renowned for spectacular fall color. The campground provides potable water, vault toilets, a camp host, and a boat landing with access to the lake. Richardson Lake is well known among anglers for its largemouth bass, northern pike, perch, crappie, bluegills, and sunfish. A sandy swim beach and picnic area overlooking the water make this an ideal spot for families. Canoeing and kayaking are popular activities, with opportunities to spot wildlife along the shoreline. Site sizes vary considerably, with some accommodating rigs up to 45 feet or longer while others are limited to 25-30 feet. Ten sites are reservable through Recreation.gov; the remaining 16 are first-come, first-served. The campground is dog-friendly.
