North Shore Campground
Closed — Closed for the season. The campground gate is closed from December 1 to May 1 and typically opens for managed camping Memorial Day through Labor Day. The boat launch remains accessible year-round weather permitting.

Flood Events & Safety Reminders

Isabella & Lost Girl Fires- Road and Trail Closure
Due to the Isabella and Lost Girl Fires on the Cabinet Ranger District, a closure order is now in effect for a portion National Forest System Road 407, National Forest System Trail #407A, and Trail #646 (St. Paul Lake Trail).
Spruce Fire Road Closure-Updated
Due to the Spruce and Spruce Ridge Fires on the Three Rivers Ranger District, a closure order is still in effect. However, the original order has been terminated and replaced with an updated closure.
South Meadow Creek Fire Closure
Due to the South Meadow Creek Fire, a closure order is now in effect for National Forest System Roads #524 and #5961, starting at the junction of the two roads to their respective ending points.
Kootenai Rails Trail Closure
A portion of the Kootenai Rails Trail (NFS Trail #255) on the Rexford Ranger District is now temporarily closed during construction activities on the Tobacco River Bridge, which is over the trail, and to protect the public on the trail from potential debris impacts.
About
North Shore Campground is situated on Noxon Reservoir in the Kootenai National Forest at an elevation of 2,200 feet, approximately 4 miles north of Trout Creek off Highway 200. The campground offers 16 sites including one host site, with 3 pull-through sites available. All campground roads and parking spurs are paved, making access easy for larger RVs up to 40 feet in length. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring. Amenities include a campground host during the managed season, vault toilets, and hand-pump drinking water. The campground features a fully developed boat launch with dock and boat parking, providing excellent access to Noxon Reservoir on the Clark Fork River. The reservoir is popular for fishing, boating, water skiing, and sailing. Six picnic sites with tables (2 covered) are located near the boat ramp for day use. The campground operates with a 16-day stay limit and accommodates groups of up to 10 people per site. Pets are welcome but must be leashed. Nearby Trout Creek offers additional services including dump facilities, showers, laundry, gas, ice, and stores.
Directions
From Trout Creek, travel northwest on Highway 200 for 3 miles to North Shore Drive. Turn left and follow for 1 mile to the campground entrance.
