Located near the park entrance, campers can walk to the North Grove Trail, where towering specimens including the famous Pioneer Cabin Tree site await. The campground also offers easy access to the Visitor Center and evening ranger programs at the Campfire Center. All 74 sites feature picnic tables, fire rings, and bear lockers (4 ft x 3 ft x 2 ft) for food storage. Restrooms with token-operated showers are distributed throughout the campground, and potable water is available. A dump station serves RV campers. The campground accommodates RVs up to 30 feet and includes two mini group camp sites with double capacity. Four fully ADA-accessible sites (15-18) feature paved parking, water spigots, and flat tent pads. An accessible boardwalk through a meadow along Big Tree Creek offers a peaceful stroll.
