About

Moore Creek Campground is located in a remote section of the Stanislaus National Forest along the Mokelumne River within the Calaveras Ranger District. This primitive campground provides a backcountry camping experience for visitors seeking solitude away from more developed recreation areas. The campground offers basic facilities suited for tent camping and self-contained RVs. Campers should come prepared as there is no potable water available on site. The surrounding area provides opportunities for fishing in the Mokelumne River and access to nearby wilderness areas. This is a first-come, first-served campground with no reservations accepted. The remote location and limited facilities make it best suited for experienced campers comfortable with primitive conditions.
