About

Navy Camp Campground is a peaceful 20-site campground on the north shore of Lake Pillsbury in Mendocino National Forest. Operated by Pacific Gas and Electric Corporation, the campground sits at 1,800 feet elevation beneath California oaks, offering a quieter alternative to the more popular campgrounds around the lake. The campground features a single loop with paved parking aprons, making it accessible for small RVs and trailers. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. The campground provides vault toilets and potable water. Located adjacent to Gravelly Valley airstrip, the campground offers convenient access to Lake Pillsbury's 2,280 acres of surface area and 31 miles of shoreline. The lake provides opportunities for fishing (bass and trout), boating, and hiking along the nearby 4-mile Lakeshore trail. The campground is accessible from Upper Lake via County Road 301 (Forest Road M-1) traveling 31 miles north, or from Ukiah traveling north on US 101, then east on Highway 20, and northwest on County Road 240. The final miles to the campground are on gravel roads with varying conditions.

Directions

From Upper Lake: Travel 31 miles north on County Road 301 (Forest Road M-1) to a T intersection, turn right staying on Forest Road M-1, and continue 3.8 miles to campground on left. From Ukiah: Travel 6 miles north on US 101, 5 miles east on Highway 20, then 26 miles northwest on County Road 240 (Potter Valley-Lake Pillsbury Road).
