About

Navy Camp Campground is a rustic camping destination on the north shore of Lake Pillsbury within Mendocino National Forest. Located adjacent to the Gravelly Valley airstrip, the campground offers 20 sites suitable for tents and small RVs or trailers up to 22 feet. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets serving the area. Campers must bring their own drinking water as no potable water is available on-site. Lake Pillsbury provides excellent fishing opportunities for bass and trout, along with non-motorized boating activities including kayaking and paddleboarding. The nearby 4-mile Lakeshore Trail offers hiking with scenic views of the lake and surrounding forest. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. Access is via Potter Valley-Lake Pillsbury Road from the west (County Road 240) or through Upper Lake on County Road 301 (Forest Road M-1). The M10 road from the east has ongoing construction due to slide repairs and may have delays or closures.
