About

Lacey-Keosauqua State Park is Iowa's largest state park at 1,662 acres, established in 1921 and later developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s. The campground sits within the scenic Des Moines River valley, surrounded by mature hardwood forest and dramatic bluffs. The park preserves Native American mounds and features distinctive CCC-era stone and timber structures throughout. The 75 campsites accommodate a range of camping styles from tent camping to large RVs. Full hookup sites offer water, electric (20/30/50 amp), and sewer connections, while other sites provide various combinations of utilities. Pull-through sites are available with lengths up to 92 feet. Modern restroom and shower facilities serve campers, and a dump station is on-site. Beyond camping, the park offers a 22-acre lake with electric-motor-only boating, a swimming beach, 14 miles of hiking trails, and a fishing dock. Six family cabins and a historic lodge provide alternative accommodations. The park is known for excellent fall foliage viewing and serves as a basecamp for exploring the scenic Villages of Van Buren County.
