Indian-Celina Lake Recreation Area sits in the heart of the Hoosier National Forest, offering 63 individual campsites divided between two loops: North Face and South Slope. The campground provides a mix of primitive, electric, and electric/water sites, with both single and double site configurations available. During peak season, campers enjoy centralized water access, modern flush restrooms, and hot showers. Each loop includes a recharge table for electric boat motors. The recreation area features two excellent fishing lakes: Celina Lake (164 acres) and Indian Lake (152 acres), both known for pan fishing and offering catfish, largemouth bass, bluegill, and crappie. Boat ramps at each lake are open year-round, though only electric motors are permitted. An accessible fishing pier is available at Celina Lake. The Two Lakes Loop National Recreation Trail encircles both lakes, offering 16 miles of hiking through dense hardwood and pine forests, with shorter segments available for day hikes. The 1-mile Rickenbaugh Interpretive Trail provides easier access near the historic 1874 Rickenbaugh House. The campground is operated by a concessionaire under special use permit from mid-April through late October. Day-use fees apply during peak season for parking, boat ramps, trails, and the fishing pier. Quiet hours run from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and campers are limited to one vehicle per site with additional vehicle fees applicable.

Directions

Located 3 miles south of Interstate 64 off State Highway 37. From St. Croix, Indiana, travel south on State Route 37 about 2 miles to the Indian-Celina Recreation Area sign. Turn right at the large entrance sign.
