About

Hobo Gulch Campground sits at 2,200 feet elevation along the North Fork of the Trinity River in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, providing a primitive camping experience for those seeking access to the Trinity Alps Wilderness. This remote campground offers 10 tent-only sites on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees required. The Hobo Gulch Trailhead, located half a mile above the campground, provides access to some of the most spectacular alpine scenery in the Trinity Alps, including destinations like Grizzly Lake and Papoose Lake. The campground features basic amenities including vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire pits at each site. No potable water is available, so campers must treat or filter water from the nearby river. The access road, Hobo Gulch Road (34N07Y), is a rough 12-mile drive from East Fork Road and is not recommended for large RVs or trailers. Campers should be prepared for primitive conditions and pack out all trash, as no services are provided at this remote location.

The access road is rough and not suitable for large RVs.
