About

The Heron Lake Visitor Center Great Room is a distinctive event and meeting facility located at Heron Lake State Park in northern New Mexico. This beautiful rental space showcases traditional Southwestern architecture with a ceiling constructed of peeled pine tree vigas and a recessed kiva fireplace, complemented by panoramic views of Heron Lake set among tall pines. The facility can accommodate up to 75 people and is designed for a variety of gatherings including weddings, memorials, board meetings, training sessions, and other special events. Two rental time slots are available: a daytime session from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and an evening session from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with rental rates ranging from $100 to $200 depending on the time slot. While at Heron Lake State Park, visitors can enjoy numerous recreational opportunities including camping at seven developed campgrounds and two primitive campgrounds, hiking on miles of trails, boating and fishing on the designated no-wake lake, paddle boarding, kayaking, and bird and wildlife viewing. The park also provides access to approximately five miles of the Rio Chama via the Rio Chama trailhead.
