Open
Open for the 2026 season from May 8 through October 1. First-come, first-served with no fees. No potable water available; treat lake water before use. Pack out all garbage including fish remains.
About
Harriet Lake Rustic Campground sits on the site of an abandoned farm in Superior National Forest, where the once-cultivated land now grows coneflowers and other plants rarely found in the surrounding boreal forest. The campground offers 6 free, first-come, first-served campsites with fire rings and tent pads. Four of the six sites exceed 21 feet and can accommodate RVs.
The lake is accessed via a boat ramp and dock, supporting populations of walleye, northern pike, and crappies. Swimming is permitted but at your own risk with no lifeguard on duty. A large open area provides opportunities for group picnicking, though there are no shelters and tables are limited.
This is a true rustic experience: no potable water is available, so lake water must be treated, boiled, or filtered before use. There is no garbage service, and campers must pack out all trash including fish remains. Vault toilets are provided. Dogs are permitted but must be leashed (6 feet or shorter), kept in tent or vehicle at night, and owners must remove all waste.
