About
H.R. White Oak Loop is one of six campground loops within the Hardin Ridge Recreation Area, situated on the shores of Monroe Lake in Hoosier National Forest. This established campground offers a mix of standard and RV electric sites under mature tree canopy. Centralized facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, and potable water. Hardin Ridge as a whole encompasses 1,200 acres and provides diverse recreational opportunities beyond camping. The complex features a 300-foot swimming beach, a three-lane boat launch with year-round access and 75-space parking area, and two lakefront primitive rental cabins. The 2-mile Hardin Ridge Trail accommodates both hikers and mountain bikers, while the 1.2-mile Ted T. Turtle Nature Trail offers interpretive experiences. The area is operated by BA Services under a Forest Service permit. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov. A daily parking permit is required during the operating season. Firewood must be purchased on-site to prevent the spread of invasive species.
