About
Guyandotte Campground is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and extends along the Guyandotte River near R.D. Bailey Lake in Wyoming County, West Virginia. The facility features 94 first-come, first-served campsites spread across two loops: Reedy Creek Loop and Locust Branch Loop. All sites are paved and include 50-amp electric service, picnic tables, and fire rings. Five sites offer full water and sewer hookups for RVs requiring complete amenities.
The campground provides developed shower houses with flush toilets and hot showers, playgrounds for families, and an RV dump station. Select sites are designated for long-term camping (16-90 consecutive nights), while standard sites allow up to 14 nights per 30-day period. Check-in time is 6 p.m. and check-out is 5 p.m., with quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
R.D. Bailey Lake offers excellent recreational opportunities including fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, and shoreline access. The surrounding area features hiking trails, superior hunting in the Wildlife Management Area, and proximity to the renowned Hatfield & McCoy ATV trail system. Additional nearby facilities include Big Branch Shelter, Guyandotte Point Shelter, and the R.D. Bailey Lake Visitor Center.
Directions
From Justice, WV, take US Route 52 south. After crossing the Guyandotte River into Wyoming County, turn left onto the Visitor Center access road.
