Grand Cherokee State Park is part of the Cherokee Area at Grand Lake State Park, located on the shores of Grand Lake O' The Cherokees in northeastern Oklahoma. Grand Lake is one of Oklahoma's largest lakes with 46,500 surface acres and 1,300 miles of shoreline, making it a popular destination for fishing, boating, and water sports. The Cherokee Area is divided into four campground areas near Pensacola Dam. Grand Cherokee Campground offers RV sites with full hookups including 50-amp electric service and a comfort station with showers. Lakeside Campground features 12 RV sites and 15 tent sites along with a swimming beach, playground, and group shelter. Riverside Campground sits below the dam with tent sites, a boat ramp providing river access, and pit toilets. Grand View Campground has four RV sites with electric-only service and 45 tent sites with a group shelter and comfort station. The park provides excellent access to Grand Lake's renowned crappie, bass, and catfish fishing. Additional amenities include picnic sites, playgrounds, comfort stations, and a 9-hole golf course at Grand Cherokee. All campsites must be reserved online through the Oklahoma State Parks reservation system.

Directions

From intersection of Hwys 82/28, go south approximately 1 mile to Hwy 28. Turn east, go approximately 1/2 mile, turn south on Hwy 82A. Take first left to stop sign. Turn east onto river road. Follow road until you cross over the river. Next right will be Grand Cherokee Golf Course where the park office is located.
