About

Fairview Campground is a quiet, primitive camping area in the Umatilla National Forest, located along State Highway 207 about 34 miles south of Heppner, Oregon. The campground offers five campsites arranged in a drive-through loop, making it easy for vehicles with trailers to navigate. A free-flowing water fountain provides potable water from May through October, and an accessible vault toilet serves all campers. Two sites directly across from the toilet are fully ADA-accessible. The campground sees its heaviest use during big game hunting season in late fall and early winter, and serves as a popular base camp for OHV enthusiasts. The trailhead at Fairview provides access to 80 miles of OHV roads and trails on the Heppner Ranger District, and Morrow County OHV Park with over 200 miles of marked trails is just 6 miles north on Highway 207. Remnants from a wildfire in the late 1980s are visible along the edges of this small campground. This is a pack-it-out campground with no garbage service. All camping is first-come, first-served with no fees and no reservations. The campground also functions as overflow camping when Bull Prairie Lake Campground reaches capacity.
