About

Doe Lake Group Site is a reservation-only group campground in the Ocala National Forest, built around a beautifully restored 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps dining hall. The historic lodge features a large group kitchen and sits atop a grassy hill with views of clear Doe Lake below. The site can accommodate up to 250 people and is a favorite among equestrian groups, though it also hosts weddings, reunions, and other large social gatherings. Tent camping is the primary accommodation, with RVs and horse trailers permitted in designated areas without hookups. The campground provides flush toilets, an accessible bathhouse with showers, drinking water, picnic tables, and hitching posts for horses. Guests with reservations have exclusive access to the lake for canoeing, kayaking, low-powered boating, and fishing. The Ocala National Forest spans 383,000 acres and is the southernmost national forest east of the Mississippi. The camping area rests beneath a shady grove of oaks and pines, offering a scenic natural setting for group activities. Bands and DJs are permitted, but overnight sleeping in the dining hall is prohibited.
