...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Florida... Withlacoochee At US 41 Dunnellon affecting Marion, Levy and Citrus Counties. .The Withlacoochee River at Dunnellon has been steadily rising since July, and on September 15 reached flood stage. The cause of the high water along the Withlacoochee River at Dunnellon is due to excessive hydrilla growth (from the river bottom to the water surface) along a 4.5 mile stretch of river between US 41 and Lake Rousseau. The hydrilla is acting like a dam and holding water back, causing water levels to rise. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Withlacoochee at US 41 Dunnellon. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 28.2 feet, Docks and boat ramps flood along the river in Citrus and Marion counties. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 28.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 28.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:45 AM EDT Tuesday was 28.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady at flood stage. - Flood stage is 28.2 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 28.2 feet on 10/02/1979. - https://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Big Bass Campground provides a rustic camping experience in the southern reaches of the Ocala National Forest, near the Ocklawaha River and Doe Lake Recreation Area. The campground features 19 standard nonelectric campsites suitable for both tent and RV camping, including two ADA-accessible sites. Each site includes a fire pit, picnic table, and lantern pole, with vault toilets available throughout the campground. The campground operates seasonally from October through April, closing during Florida's hot and humid summer months. A dump station is available for RV users. The area is home to wildlife including black bears, so campers should follow proper food storage practices. Gates are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with check-in at 3 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m. Reservations can be made through Recreation.gov or by calling (877) 444-6777. All Ocala National Forest campgrounds enforce a 14-day stay limit within any 30-day period. Interagency Senior and Access passes provide a 50% discount on single campsite fees.
