About
Lake Dorr Campground offers a scenic retreat along the northwest shore of Lake Dorr, one of the most attractive large lakes in Ocala National Forest. Set beneath the shade of a mature oak hammock, this 34-site campground provides a picturesque setting for tent and RV camping with no hookups. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. The recreation area is popular for water-based activities, with a convenient boat ramp providing access to the lake for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and waterskiing. Anglers can cast for bass either from shore or from boats on the expansive lake. The day use area offers additional picnic facilities with lake views. The campground operates year-round with reservable sites available through Recreation.gov up to six months in advance. The main entrance gate is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with quiet hours enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. A 14-day stay limit within any 30-day period applies to all Ocala National Forest campgrounds. Pets are welcome in the campground on leashes up to six feet but are not permitted in designated swimming and picnic areas.
