About
Lake Dorr Campground is located on the northwest shore of Lake Dorr, one of the largest and most scenic lakes in Ocala National Forest. The 34-site campground is nestled under a canopy of live oaks in a natural hammock, providing welcome shade in Florida's subtropical climate. All sites are standard nonelectric and can accommodate tents, truck campers, and smaller RVs. The campground features a bathhouse with flush toilets and showers, picnic tables, fire pits, and food storage lockers. A boat ramp on-site provides direct access to the lake for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and waterskiing. Lake Dorr is known for excellent bass fishing both from boats and from shore. Note that potable water is not available at this campground; campers must bring their own drinking water. Pets are allowed on leashes up to 6 feet but are prohibited from the swimming and picnic day-use areas. The main entrance gate operates from 8 AM to 8 PM, with quiet hours from 10 PM to 6 AM.
