About

Cross Ranch State Park Campground occupies a prime location along the Missouri River in Oliver County, offering campers access to one of North Dakota's most pristine natural areas. The 589-acre park sits adjacent to the 6,000-acre Cross Ranch Nature Preserve, protecting some of the last remaining intact Missouri River floodplain ecosystem in the state. The campground features 35 standard sites with electric hookups and 22 primitive sites, all within reach of flush toilets, showers, and a dump station. Over 16 miles of trails wind through the park and nature preserve, traversing native mixed-grass prairie, cottonwood bottomlands, and wooded ravines. The Missouri River provides opportunities for fishing and boating via the park's boat ramp, while a swim beach offers summer recreation. A visitor center with gift shop anchors the park's interpretive programs, and an amphitheater hosts seasonal events. Yurts and cabins provide alternative accommodations for those seeking more comfort, including the full-service York Cabin with kitchen, bathroom, and climate control available year-round. The park's remote location in the Missouri River valley delivers dark skies and abundant wildlife viewing opportunities.
