About

Cedro Peak Camping Sites - Robin and Jay is a popular group camping destination in the southern portion of the Sandia Ranger District within Cibola National Forest. Located at approximately 7,400 feet elevation in the Manzanita Mountains, the campground sits amid an arid, hilly landscape covered with ponderosa pine, pinon, and juniper trees. The two fully accessible group sites provide ample space for large gatherings, with Robin accommodating up to 150 people and 41 vehicles, and Jay hosting up to 100 people and 27 vehicles. Each site is equipped with grills, picnic tables (some under shelters), and large campfire circles. Accessible vault toilets and bear-proof trash receptacles are provided. Campers must bring their own water, firewood, and charcoal, as none are available on site. Jay features a circular turnaround drive suitable for small travel trailers. The campground serves as a gateway to one of the best trail systems in Cibola National Forest, with over 80 miles of single-track and equestrian trails accessible from the camping area. Mountain biking trails range from intermediate to advanced, offering expansive views of the Sandia Mountains to the north and the Manzanos. Hiking, horseback riding, and limited off-road vehicle trails also connect with the area.
