About
Caswell Memorial State Park Campground is a peaceful refuge in California's Great Central Valley, protecting 258 acres of threatened riparian oak woodland along the Stanislaus River. The campground features 64 family sites situated in a mature oak grove, accommodating tents, trailers up to 21 feet, and motorhomes up to 24 feet. No hookups are available, making this a true dry camping experience. Each site includes a picnic table, camp stove, and food locker. The campground offers flush toilets and hot showers for camper convenience. The park provides access to the meandering Stanislaus River with beaches and swimming areas near campground facilities. Anglers can fish for bass, catfish, and crappie. Nature trails wind through the oak forest, offering glimpses of what the Central Valley looked like before development. The park is home to several endangered species, including the riparian brush rabbit, and offers excellent bird watching opportunities with red-shouldered hawks, red-tailed hawks, and dozens of other species. A group campground accommodates up to 50 people for tent camping only. Reservations are available through ReserveCalifornia.
